A quick overview.
My second week at work has come to an end, I'm still alive and I kind of know what I'm doing. That's good, I guess.
One day a customer got angry with me because there were a lot of people and well the other guy made her the coffee she wanted.. And then she just shouted at me that "You can't swap customers like that." and "I would never employ you to work with me!". Oh well, I wouldn't like to work for you either, so it's all good, I guess. Anyways she just had a bad day, it was extremly busy and the other guy Alex is a bit of a knobhead. He never does anything. During the main hour I had like 6 tables to serve and he had only 1. Fair? I don't think so.
On Thursday I went to see a play. I'll try to write a separate post about that (we'll see how that works out). Anyways, It was good, I think, anyway it made me want to go back and see more plays or the schoolyear to start already or..well, just made me miss the Theatreworld..
On friday there was this wierd girl at work. She was 18 and in college and had gotten the job through the college for work experience (which is actually a really nice thing!). But she was funny. Firstly when she heard I was 19, she asked if I go to college too and when I said I'm in the uni here, she was reaalllly surprised "But, but, you're so young!" and then I was like "Umm, okay, if you say so.." because most of the British people here are younger than me..So it didn't make any sense at all.. And then when she found out I lived alone, she was even more surprised. "You don't see your parents at all then???" and after that she was just quiet and shocked for a while. And she did the washing up, for 5 hours or so. Just the washing up, because she wasn't ALLOWED to do anything else. What?? But anyways, she was funny and wierd and made me smile :)
On saturday at work, some guy thought I was from Canada. Hello? I laughed at it every time I remember during the day. Just the little things I guess.
And then there's Mr.Hughes who is like 86 or something and thinks I'm from Lithuania, although I keep saying that I'm from Estonia. Oh well.
And then there's one guy who always when he arrives shouts "HELLO, Edith! I remember your name because of Edith Piaf!". He's a funny guy.
And today there was a guy who thought that Edith was a very lovely name.
Other than the adventures I have at work, there's nothing. Really. Living without the internet is awful. Only the moile internet isn't enough. But one day I will get my WiFi working here! I will! Somehow..
And.. days roll by working and if I'm not working I just curl up in my bed, drink tea and read something. Currently I'm reading "The Book Thief", which is an unbelievably sweet book. I've always known that I want to read it and now when I'm reading it I know that I made a right decission when I decided to read it. Yesh.
